3 Stage Elevator — The elevator was the first system that I was a lead over and I was tasked with creating an elevator that could extend to a height of 8.5 ft while also fitting in an extremely compact space and be ~15lbs without the platform.
Intake — On top of leading the chassis team I also lead the intake team to create an intake capable of taking in multiple balls at once and interface between two other subsystems.
This model was also fully compiled and managed by me with version checkpoints to ensure that the team was staying within all parameters and to try and catch any design errors before prototyping and the final build. In addition, it also helped show the process that the team made through the season being able to see the different variations.
FEA Optimization — This optimization model is from a competition that I did in high school to build a bridge that could hold the most force in a tensile tester while staying lightweight.
CAM — Since the robot was mostly built from parts made in the shop outside of motors, gears, and bearings CAM was a necessary skill with the CNC router in the shop. I made the CAM for all of the parts for my specific subsystems and operated the router to oversee the cutting process as well.
Model Showcase
This model is a chassis model for the robot seen above in the intake animation. I created this chassis to be fully parametric so the user only has to enter in the width and length desired and it would automatically update the dimensions.
This model showcases the three stage elevator seen in the animation above. The strings that drive the elevator spool up at the bottom with two 775 VEX motors and are attached to the moving platform with two tension springs. On the sides of the tubing are red blocks that act as the rollers to ensure even pressure during the whole travel time. There are also bumper blocks on the upper and lower portions of the elevator; however, they are only there as a just incase as there a magnetic stops built in that trigger with the robot code.
