I am currently working part-time at DENSO Corporation in Maryville, TN as a mechanical engineering intern in the 20X campus SMD section. My main responsibilities include a mesh of mechanical aspects as well as programming projects. I also regularly communicate with production floor associates to ensure all of the projects I've completed and implemented are still working as intended and if they have any other requests or upgrades that would make their jobs easier.
My work done so far includes:
— Programming lineside TVs for production status visualization
— Making parametric models for kaizen production floor associates' job
— Gathering quotes for a project focusing on upgrading seven of the SMD lines
— Modeling and manufacturing carts for the transportation of new products and giving workers a workstation for labeling
— Working alongside my mentor to upgrade the current production systems to give more real-time orders and order progress
Through the fall and spring semester I will be working on my Senior Design at the University of Tennessee — Knoxville creating a battlebot that will have to comple a number of tasks. These tasks include an agility based course, a weapon's demonstration, and finally an elimination based bracket.
My work done so far includes:
— Researching designs
— Making a design matrix to determine the best design
